THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS

The best way you can approach your family session is to have a willingness to be loose, have fun, and connect with each other. If things start to "fall apart" we will roll with it and create something awesome. There will be lots of play and relaxed direction.

It's also a good idea to make sure everyone is fed before the session so no one gets hangry. I've seen parents bring mini marshmallows for small rewards during the session and those are great because they are easy to eat quickly. However, hold off of telling kids about any rewards until we need to. Start with telling them that you're just going to go have fun while Tina takes photos along the way.

Lastly, it's important to be on time so we can get the most out of session. However, don't stress if you're running a bit behind. Just please communicate with me so I can adjust if possible.

Stressed About What to Wear?

I've been there multiple times. Lots of last minute shopping trips and hours of stressing on Pinterest, only to end up wearing something I already owned.

This is a simple guide that will take some of the guesswork out of what looks good together.

embrace color

I love a good tan palette just as much as the next instagram obsessed person, but if you and/or your kiddos love color, go for it! Just go with muted colors rather than "true" colors. For example, a rust red with photograph better than a true primary color red. You can also mix it up with some neutrals.

Textures and patterns

Textured clothing photographs so well. Think eyelets, lace, different materials. If you're including a strong pattern, just have one pattern per 2 or 3 people in your family so the eye doesn't get lost in a sea of patterns.

WHEN KIDS HAVE OPINIONS

Give your kiddo a few different (not itchy) options. This can even be allowing them to help you shop. Just make sure you're happy with the options as well.

If your child is still in diapers, consider a onesie so the back of their diaper doesn't pop out while they're running around.

If your kiddo(s) have a favorite stuffie or toy, the can absolutely bring it to the session. It will help them feel at ease and you'll get to document their favorite thing.

Above all.

The most important thing is that you feel amazing and love what you're in. Nothing that you need to tug at, check a bra strap, or adjust too much. We'll have you playing with your kiddo and getting sweet "in-between moments" so a well fitted outfit works best. As long as you feel great, it's hard to go wrong with the rest of it. And don't overthink it!

Text me photos if you want a second opinion. Happy to give my thoughts!
