Stressed About What to Wear?
Quite possibly the most stressful part of getting family photos is deciding what everyone should wear. I've been there multiple times. Lots of last minute shopping trips only to end up wearing something I already owned.
This is a simple guide that will take some of the guesswork out of what looks good together.
embrace color
I love a good tan palette just as much as the next instagram obsessed person, but if you and/or your kiddos love color, go for it! Just go with muted colors rather than "true" colors. For example, a rust red with photograph better than a true primary color red. You can also mix it up with some neutrals.
Textures and patterns
Textured clothing photographs so well. Think eyelets, lace, different materials. If you're including a strong pattern, just have one pattern per 2 or 3 people in your family so the eye doesn't get lost in a sea of patterns.
WHEN KIDS HAVE OPINIONS
Give your kiddo a few different (not itchy) options. This can even be allowing them to help you shop. Just make sure you're happy with the options as well.
If your child is still in diapers, consider a onesie so the back of their diaper doesn't pop out while they're running around.
Above all.
The most important thing is that you feel amazing and love what you're in. Nothing that you need to tug at, check a bra strap, or adjust too much. We'll have you playing with your kiddo and getting sweet "in-between moments" so a well fitted outfit works best. As long as you feel great, it's hard to go wrong with the rest of it.
Text me photos if you want a second opinion. Happy to give my thoughts!
